Polnoon – Proctor and Matthews’ contemporary extension of a historic planned village in Renfrewshire – has been shortlisted for a 2016 RIAS Award.
At Polnoon, the practice has sought to create vibrant streetscapes, and provide a thoughtful transition from historic, through contemporary, to rural. Standard house types were developed with reference to the historic context of Eaglesham – an important 18th “planned village” outside Glasgow. Phase 1 is now complete and occupied, with subsequent phases of the 121-home development currently on site.
The 2016 RIAS Awards will be presented at the RIAS Centenary Dinner in Glasgow on 15 June.
