Proctor and Matthews Architects in collaboration with Levitt Bernstein Associates and Cullinan Studio, have won outline planning consent for the regeneration of the Eastfields Estate in the London Borough of Merton. The project aims to deliver a masterplan for a mixed tenure residential neighbourhood that retains the positive physical qualities of the existing estate while improving the quality of homes, the public realm and the relationship with the surrounding neighbourhoods.
The project forms part of Clarion Housing Group’s £1bn Merton Regeneration Project which includes plans for around 2,800 new homes across three neighbourhoods. These proposals will see all existing tenants and resident homeowners who wish to remain rehoused. In addition, the project will generate 1,800 properties for sale and rent, helping boost Merton’s supply of high-quality new housing.
