Join us for a breakfast talk and panel discussion where we will reveal the narrative behind our approach to developing a mixed-use masterplan for South Thamesmead creating a ‘liveable neighbourhood’ with a distinctive character and identity for 1,600 new dwellings.
Peabody’s regeneration of South Thamesmead is an ambitious long-term project that focuses on the integration of existing communities and acknowledges the importance of creating not only physical connections with the existing urban context but also metaphorical links to the local history, culture and people.
The practice will be joined by John Lewis, Executive Director of Thamesmead who will introduce Peabody’s vision for the transformation of the wider area and Ian Turkington, Director of Landscape Architects Turkington Martin who will explain the practices' evocative proposals for the public realm.
Speakers:
John Lewis, Exectutive Director of Thamesmead, Peabody
Ian Turkington, Director, Turkington Martin
Stephen Proctor, Andrew Matthews, Constanze Leibrock, Directors of Proctor and Matthews Architects
The event will take place on Thursday 17th May from 8:30 - 10:30am at the Garden Musuem in Lambeth. Tickets are now available to book online.
