The first show homes at our Polnoon development have been opened by the Scottish Minister for Local Government and Planning.
Polnoon is a new neighbourhood that extends the historic planned village of Eaglesham in East Renfrewshire. The first phase of 24 sustainable new homes is currently on site, and contains a range of housing types and sizes to cater for different age groups. Particular care has been taken to how streets and houses relate to each other, creating a spacious extension to the village. Individual houses take their architectural cues from Eaglesham while offering a clear contemporary presence. Large windows provide plentiful natural daylight and scenic views, either across the development or out to the rural edge. High quality materials have been used in the shared surfaces of the streetscape, giving pedestrians priority over cars in a connected network of streets, lanes and courts. Generous landscaping and other shared spaces such as play areas have also been integrated into the scheme.
Polnoon's two show homes were opened by Derek Mackay MSP on 18 September. The development is a Scottish Government project and is being realised through a partnership between East Renfrewshire Council, developers Mactaggart and Mickel, Waterman and Boreham Transport Engineering, and Proctor and Matthews Architects.
