Abode at Great Kneighton has been described by a leading housing expert as one of the schemes to watch in 2013. Writing for The Architects' Journal, Design For Homes Chief Executive David Birkbeck said that Proctor and Matthews' major housing-led development on the outskirts of Cambridge for Countryside Properties was the forthcoming scheme that excited him most for 2013, describing it as a "miniature linear city with surprising typologies" and "unlike anything in the UK". Construction is now well under way at Great Kneighton, which when complete will form a mixed-use community of 2,250 dwellings.

Design for Homes champions the value of good design in the housing industry, and organises the annual Housing Design Awards. Abode at Great Kneighton won a Project Award in the 2012 Awards.
