The South Thamesmead masterplan, one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects, will deliver more than 1,500 homes, new public spaces and approximately 10,000 sqm of commercial retail and leisure space. The design concept focuses on strengthening a linear connection from Abbey Wood Station to Southmere Lake and beyond. A new laneway – Southmere Lane – meanders across the existing urban grid, improving the area’s sense of place, whilst offering a safe and logical route for cyclists and pedestrians.
The awards celebrate London’s best new and proposed projects across all sectors of the built environment. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 5th of July.
