Tumpa is a co-founder of the Mannan Foundation Trust, set up to serve the disadvantaged population of rural Bangladesh. Recent projects include a Women's Literacy and Healthcare Centre in Rajapur village, which will provide the surrounding communities with access to free education, income generating skills and free health camps.
The project aims to support and empower rural women who face discrimination and inequality within the community. The centre has been designed and constructed using low budget, zero CO2 emission architectural solutions including local materials and construction techniques with rammed earth and bamboo. Tumpa has been responsible for fundraising and collaborating with professionals in the UK who have joined her in volunteering their services and time. Tumpa has also hosted a number of workshops in Rajapur to encourage community participation in the project.
