Hargood Close has been named the winner of the Galvanizing in Detail category at the 2014 Galvanizing Awards.
The Galvanizers Association Galvanizing Awards - known more fondly as the GAGAs - celebrate the diversity and innovative use of galvanized steel by architects, engineers, constructors and artists. At Hargood Close, we used galvanized steel within a relatively limited palette of materials to produce a series of attractive surfaces with a domestic feel, which at the same time offer robustness and durability. The access walkways feature a galvanized steel structure, while skilfully detailed galvanized supports to the stair core roofs add further interest to the architecture of the development.
We collected on of the construction industry's more unusual trophies - a galvanized watering can - at a ceremony at the Royal Aeronautical Society on 26 June.
