Day trip to Cambridge

Day trip to Cambridge

The office enjoyed a day out in Cambridge this week to visit our award winning project, Abode at Great Kneighton. Built on the former Clay Farm site, Abode is a key part of a major new housing and mixed-use development in South Cambridge. The design consists of a hierarchy of spaces and housing types to suit the transition from urban to rural edge.

We also visited the Fry Public Art Gallery in Saffron Walden which houses a number of paintings, prints and illustrations by artists of the 20th century including many examples of work by the painter and graphic artist Edward Bawden.

Our final stop of the day was the Bridge End Garden, created in 1840 by Francis Gibson. The garden is designed as a series of interlocking ‘rooms’, each with its own unique character.
