Chapter House shortlisted for 'Housing Project of the Year' at the AJ Architecture Awards

We are pleased to announce that Chapter House, later living community has been shortlisted for the inaugural AJ Architecture Awards.

The scheme, located within one of Lichfield's important central conservation areas draws inspiration from the city's historic walled gardens and the original cloistered form of the demolished medieval friary which once occupied the site.

Accommodation consists of 38 new apartments and incorporates a number of internal and external facilities which encourage neighbourly interaction between new residents and locals, and will hopefully over time, help to nurture a sense of community, security and belonging.

The sequence of spaces around the building (including the incorporation of the existing Monk's Walk landscaped garden - an amenity space maintained by existing local residents) will help to create a safe leisurely 'exercise' circuit for older residents.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on the 7th of December.
